Katie Geppert is an emerging Australian visual artist specialising in portraiture and abstraction. Born in Brisbane, Queensland, she began her artistic journey with painting lessons as a child and later studied film and design. Relocating to Melbourne in 2004, Geppert rediscovered her passion for painting during her European travels in 2005.
Her watercolours caught the eye of American fashion designer Virgil Abloh in 2015, leading to collaborations on Off-White™ products and inclusion in his 2019 "Figures of Speech" exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) Chicago. Geppert's work was showcased in a panel discussion at ACMI in 2018. She has curated successful solo exhibitions at Pulse and Polyester Records, and participated in group shows at Off The Kerb Gallery and Honey Bones Gallery.
Currently residing in Melbourne, Geppert continues to explore themes of identity and purpose, drawing influence from pop culture, nature, and personal experiences. She volunteers at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA), contributing to the vibrant local art community.
Katie Geppert's dynamic and evolving work captivates audiences, making her a promising artist in the contemporary art scene.
